SHREE AMOLUCKCHAND GALADA JAIN HIGHER SECONDARY SCHOOL

The untiring efforts and unrivalled sacrifices of a number of devoted Jains particularly Shri Amoluckchandji Galada, Shri Inderchandji Galada, Shri Deepchandji Khimsura, Shri Mohanmullji Chordia, Shri Jaisinglalbhai, Shri Surajmalji Khimsura, Shri Tarachandji Galada and Shri Mangichandji Bhandari brought Shree Amoluckchand Galada Jain Higher Secondary School into existence on 12th June 1940.

Shri S.S. Jain Educational Society took up the management of the school and steered it steadily.  The year 1946 was notable for the inauguration of main building with extensive facilities.  Again in the year 1961 the management has provided another building in realizing its dream of “Education for all”.

The steady and uninterrupted progress and growing reputation of the school in and around the area has urged the Government of Tamil Nadu to select it for the introduction of Higher Secondary Courses in the year 1978.

To keep in tune with the modernisation of education the management is pleased to introduce a computer awareness scheme for all the students from 1992-93.  In order to equip the students adequately to meet the challenges of new millennium, modern computer education with internet facility was introduced on 9th July, 2000.  The present strength of the students of the school is nearly 1100 on its roll.  It offers to impart education through the medium of Hindi, Tamil and English.  The school which draws pupils belonging to various parts of India is rightly nicknamed “A miniature India”.  The school celebrated its Diamond Jubilee on 2nd February, 2002.

Smt. Ganeshbai Galada wife of (Late) Sri Amoluckchandji Galada was a pious and religious lady. Her deep involvement in religion and a strict disciplined life. She led, left a rich legacy of discipline, austerity and philosophic outlook of life on her son, (Late) Sri Inderchandji Galada and her grandson Sri Gyanchandji Galada.

Smt. Sampathbai, wife of Late Sri Inderchandji Galada felt the need, for spread of Woman’s education and made a generous donation of Rs. 71,000/- for starting Ganeshbai Galada Jain Girls’ High School.

The Galada family’s services to the cause of education have been unique and exemplary. The family’s generous and handsome donations to many deserving causes have awakened a new sense of service and dedication in the jain community. The jain community owe a deep sense of gratitude to this family for their leadership in championing the cause of education.
